Hi, I'm Beth Moses, founder of Melon's Gift. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1991. Grateful to be a survivor, I started my personal crusade against this dreadful disease. When my 50th birthday was nearing, I decided to take on the challenge of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3-day, 60 mile walk.

In order to participate in this event, I needed to raise over $2,000. Thus began the concept of "The Fun Dog Show." My beloved "Melon," a special need Akita, was my inspiration for an event that would celebrate the family dog. As not all dogs are suited for "professional" dog shows, I wanted to have an event that would acknowledge the "family pet."

What began as a dream, soon became an extraordinary reality. My community's response was overwhelming. The first "Fun Dog Show" was a huge success. My passion for dogs combined with my dedication to finding a cure for cancer was a perfect formula for a day filled with fun for all who attended.

"Melon's Gift" was formed in memory of my beloved Melon, as she was the inspiration for the "Fun Dog Show." Her legacy will live on as we continue the fight for a cure for all forms of cancer.
